The search is on now for a replacement opponent for Peterson, but given the little time that there is between now and 4/29, Peterson could get someone that he’ll be able to easily handle. That’s good news for Peterson, because if he wins the fight he’ll become the mandatory challenger for IBF champion Zab Judah. Tim Coleman is being considered as the replacement to fight Peterson.
Peterson is coming off of a 10 round draw with Victor Ortiz last year. Peterson was dropped twice in that fight and didn’t appear to do enough to get a draw out of the fight. It’s slightly disappointing that he’s fighting in an IBF eliminator bout given that he’s coming off of a draw instead of a win.
